This is the VERY best brand. When the company started I bought a pair of the Jampui and found them so amazingly, out-of-the box comfortable, that I went back and bought a pair of ... view moreKameng boots for heavier hiking. For local walks, I felt I would now get a pair of these Lushai boots, which are similarly comfortable. These are very stabilizing, solid but EXTREMELY comfortable, and I continue to think this is just a solid, solid brand which makes extraordinarily excellent boots in all weight classes. view less
Can I have more?

Q: Hello:
I need a lightweight boot for hiking, I am 72 years old so my intensity level is quite low, 8 to 12 mile range. My usual boot size (Redwings) is US11 EE. Color is not important. What size do you recommend? Thank you.
A:Hi Michael,
Thanks for reaching out. Since you want lightweight and intensity is low, I would suggest the Jampui boot. It is our lightest boot. Also since you want an EE, and we don't have a wide as such, I would recommend going up one size to get extra width. So, I would suggest...view more the EU 45 / US 12. Thats should fit your wide feet better. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.

Q: Hello, I will be doing the Annapurna Trek in October, 2019. I am a female who wears 9.5 - 10 with a wider foot. Which boot style do you recommend and which size, please?
A:Hi Billie,
Kameng is our slightly wider boot. You can try the EU 41/ US Women 9.5 in Kameng. You can also try the Lushai or Jampui EU 42/ US Women 10 to get the extra width. Kameng has a slightly more rigid sole compared to Lushai and Jampui. It is more suitable when you have...view more heavier loads on your back. On the other hand, both Lushai and Jampui are lighter than Kameng and are preferable if you are into ultralight backpacking.
Hope that helps. Let me know if I could help with anything else.
Thanks,

A: Hi Jim,
We haven't ordered the production of Lushai yet. So, it won't be available any time soon. We do have the Kameng in stock and Jampui will be back in stock by April, 2019. Will either of the two work?
Thanks,
Kapil
Q: I just received my new kameng boots and they fit perfectly. I am very anxious to go for a long hike after reading all the literature and reviews about these boots. We should also be getting snow very soon. The only question I have is if the suede needs any conditioner to preserve...view more it. In our city as in many others they use salt or other chemicals on icy roads which may get on my beautiful new boots. They do make conditioners for this. Would that affect the breathability of my boots?view less
A: Hi Karl,
The most important component affecting the breathability is the waterproof membrane and that membrane is inside. Applying a thin layer of conditioner to the leather should not make much of a difference.
Thanks,
Kapil
