This softshell has been my go-to jacket this spring!
This softshell has been my go-to jacket this spring! Incredibly comfortable, warm and a nice barrier against the wind. On top of that, it's a great value!
Misti pros:
More comfortable than hardshell, with a little extra warmth
Stylish cut and appropriate length for urban wear, though length could be an inch or two longer.... view more
Can accommodate a sweater/fleece/very thin puffy underneath
I like the ability to cinch down the waist and hood.
Water resistance has been fine so far, though I haven't used in anything serious.
Length of arms is good.
Misti cons
Pit vents make it a little uncomfortable to wear with just a short sleeve shirt on, since they touch your bare skin. Though they are well made, I probably won't use vents as much for urban wear as opposed to outdoor wear where I'm sweating.
Hood is a little small, even without a helmet, though I haven't been in a true rain storm yet.
Cut in the chest is good, though the armpits get a little tight while wearing something underneath. Sometimes I open the pit zips a little bit to give me more space in the armpit.
The main zipper could be a little less tight. By this I mean that when I zip the jacket all the way up, the zipper is either too tall and poking into the bottom of my chin, or, if I try to put it over my chin and mouth, its a little bit too tight to be comfortable.
Velcro from wrists sometimes gets stuck to the inside of the hip pockets.
Napoleon pocket would be a nice touch.
Overall I like it a lot, its great to wear biking to and from work. Its a high quality jacket that I've gotten several compliments on (especially people who say "What is Mishmi Takin?"), and its a very well made jacket. view less
This jacket is fantastic! Kapil recommended this for Florida winters and our trip to Northern Italy in April. It was still quite cold some days, about 50 Fahrenheit with clouds and... view more rain and hiking 1200m on top of a mountain that still had snow. The jacket kept me so warm that I actually had to open all the breathers and the jacket itself while we were doing a strenuous climb to the peak. BTW, I had a Tshirt and an Adidas long sleeve moisture wicking running shirt underneath, that was it and I was blown away at how warm I stayed. I also used this on a trip to Cinncinatti in February and it was COLD in the 30's, windy and cloudy. This time I was feeling the cold but wasn't unbearable. The water resistance is also amazing. I absolutely love this jacket, the quality and price can't be compared! view less
