'I found the wrist gaiters particularly helpful when it came to warming my hands. They also prevented the wind from blowing up my sleeves.'

'Cayambe jacket acted as two items in one. On all these outings I was able to leave behind my rain jacket and down pullover.'
'Without downplaying this jacket's utility on the trail or in camp, I've appreciated it the most when fishing. I've walk-waded the Yellowstone, Gallatin, and Madison Rivers when the mercury was near freezing and snow and sleet falling. The Cayambe has been great. The sleeve liners keep out the wind and the athletic fit keeps me warm as I chase the wily trout.'
'Water repellency is as good as I've ever encountered with a jacket marketed as a soft shell.'
'This jacket has been especially durable; it truly looks like new after several months' use and abuse on the trail.'
'Cayambe is really terrific within its temperature range - depending upon midlayers worn, from 18-50 F (-8 to 10 C).'
Looking for the most versatile and advanced breathable soft shell jacket? Look no further!
I bought a Cayembe jacket for my 14 year old son for his 8th grade D.C. trip after a lot of research. This jacket saved him in the cold and rain multiple times while many of his cl...view moreassmates were cold and miserable. The function and design details on this jacket are incredible. From the externally taped stitching, the stretchy hand gaiters, quality of the zippers, and of course the awesome breathable eVent fabric. I could go on and on, and it’s not even my jacket! My Arc’teryx, Marmot, or Canada Goose jackets can’t even compare in features
or function. Don’t believe me? Read the independent reviews of the Cayambe. If I could only have one jacket, this is it. Now I’ll order myself one. view less
Every time I wear my jacket I get several compliments
I backed this project on Kickstarter and received the Cayambe jacket (blue) and well as the Kameng boots (more on that later). Every time I wear my jacket I get several compliments...view more about how sharp it looks and where can they get it! The build quality is excellent and it keeps me nice and warm but not too warm and sweaty. The sealed seams and weather-proof zippers make it an excellent choice for a rainy day (Iu2019ve yet to wear it in a torrential downpour but I live in Los Angeles so thatu2019s a rare occurrence anyway). I highly recommend this jacket and the company!
I mentioned earlier I also ordered the Kameng boots. Iu2019m not going to post a review here but itu2019s worth mentioning that when I received them they were a little snug. I emailed Kapil ( owner/creator of Mishmi Takin) and requested an exchange for a larger pair. Due to circumstances I was in the middle of a move from Hawaii back to LA. I explained the boots were in transit on a shipping container but I would write back when they arrived and Kapil graciously offered to make the exchange at that time. Well life intervened as it often does and my stuff arrived and sat in my garage for a couple of months. I then receive an email from Kapil asking if I still wanted to exchange my boots. I had completely forgotten! Many companies could learn from this level of commitment to customer service. Here is a transaction that gains his company no revenue yet he followed up unprompted. This certainly engenders good will from the customer (me). I have purchased many many items from crowdfunding sites (much to my wifeu2019s chagrin) and this kind of concern for the satisfaction of the buyer is truly a breath of fresh air! Keep up the great work Kapil! view less
The Cayambe jacket was on backorder for a while, but Kapil diligently followed up and ensured that the product was delivered. It was well worth the wait! Please note that I am only rating the product or the lack of good product information and not the service. I like the shell of the jacket and especially the zippers and the cuffs...view more. I also
Like the style. What I was unprepared for is the liner which makes the jacket pretty much usable for only cold weather. I wanted a three season jacket but got a one season (winter) jacket. It appears to be made well but the striping seems overdone when I see it in person. For a winter jacket I would have rated it higher. So to be honest I am not sure that I made the correct rating as it may have been good if I only knew more. And the site did not give me adequate info imo.
But let me tell you about the service. It was quite good and it may have me do another purchase. You can thank Kapil for that. Kapil
Is a credit to the company. But I will be careful to ask more questions before buying anything else. view less

A: Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the preference. In next version, we are planning to come out with a green, deep purple, a different shade of blue, and a caramel brown. Hope that you will find something you like.
Thanks.
A:Hi Everett,
For the Men's version, It is just a little bit on the smaller side. If you prefer a slightly athletic fit, stick to your size. If you want a looser fit with room to layer, go up one size. My overall experience has been that the customers requesting a Medium size...view more have ended up going to Large while the customers ordering Large , XL, or XXL have usually stuck with their size.
Hope that helps.

Q: Mishmi Takin,
I live in the Netherlands and it's quite rainy with mild temperatures. Which jacket will be most appropriate for this climate?
Is this jacket still useful when it's 13 degrees or will that be to warm?
Kind regards,
Martijn
A:Hi Martijn,
For cold and wet conditions, Cayambe is best. It looks best for the conditions you describe. We actually have many customers in Norway and Sweden. The jacket has pit zips which you can open up if it starts getting hot. The pit zips significantly extend the thermal...view more range of the jacket. You could wear it up to 20 C / 65 F. Above that, it would start getting too warm.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.
Thanks,
